GPB Global Resources Goes to Gabon

On February 26, 2015, Christophe AKAGHA MBA, Gabonese Minister of Mines, Industry and Tourism, received a delegation from the Russian Federation. During the meeting Sergey Baranov, Business Development Director at GPB Global Resources, reported on a number of mining projects in Africa developed by the Company and shared his view on possible cooperation opportunities. The meeting was also attended by Dmitry Kurakov, Russian Ambassador to the Gabonese Republic.

The Russian representatives were satisfied with the results of the meeting and proposed to arrange additional discussions with the technical specialists on potential mutual projects in mining. According to Sergey Baranov, GPB Global Resources would be interested in mining gold, bauxite, diamond, iron and manganese ore.


GPB Global Resources is an international group of companies, engaged in petroleum and mineral resource projects in various parts of the globe, including Africa, South America, and the Middle East. Companies of the group operate  in Chad, Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, and Venezuela.

The Gabonese Republic is a sovereign State on the west coast of Central Africa. The country is rich in oil, gas, manganese, uranium ore, gold, diamonds and is considered to be one of the most prosperous countries in the region. Oil export income accounts for more than 40% of the Gabonese Gross Domestic Product as of 2014.
